What will it take for DFW to have its own Council?
On the zoom call today a member asked about qualifications for individuals to be appointed officers and elected officers.
To be considered to be an appointed officer, an interested member needs to have some previous union experience. That can be either from serving as a previous officer or being on a committee. The reason this experience is important is because there is no formal training for Temporary Appointed Officers. You would have International staff support to help with your duties and responsibilities as well as support from the Mesa MEC and Council 88 LEC Officers while serving as a Temporary Officer. The appointed officers shall serve until regular Officers have been elected.
For new council elected positions, no previous experience is needed. Any member in good standing (current on dues) and based in Dallas can run for office. The newly elected officers would attend an orientation and a new leader training to prepare you for your new role.
Is being an Officer not for you but still want to help? We are in great need of a few Flight Attendants that are willing and able to get involved. You could truly make a difference! Please let us know what your passion is and we will find a committee where you can help your fellow Flight Attendants and do something you truly have a passion for.
